As Simon and Gray being their lives as mates, the High Moon Pack faces new challenges from both within their ranks and from forces they cannot have foreseen. Simon and Gray must work together to protect their pack while also remembering that a pack is only as strong as its weakest member.

While the pack adjusts to the new allies in their midst, new relationships are formed among the wolves. Rocky Harris has been on the bottom rung of pack society his whole life. But his role helping the High Moon Pack to improve security gives him a new sense of purpose and brings him face-to-face with new ideas and Cade Montgomery.

Cade’s confidence took a hit when the pack’s cubs were kidnapped on his watch. When Gray asks him to work with Rocky, he knows it will be hard to keep his hands off the other wolf, but he soon learns there is more to the security specialist than anyone knows, and the mystery is as alluring to Cade as Rocky’s body. While Simon and Gray celebrate their mating, Rocky and Cade start on their own path, but their journey is not without challenges.

When someone declares war on the pack and puts everyone in danger, Simon, Gray, Cade, and Rocky will need each other’s strengths to survive the impending battle—proving the strength of the pack is in their unity.

Book Review

Book two in Macy Blake's series 'The Triad of Magic', began following the end of book one. I like that in a series because it's seamless and the plot and story are picked back up immediately. I was so excited to read this story because I love paranormals and shifters and I had a feeling the author would be able to keep the excitement going. Best of all, the storyline from book one continued here, also. I don't mean that you got references to those characters (Gray, Simon, Garon, Cormac), but, instead the author continued writing their pivotal story alongside Cade and Rocky's.

Rocky is a wolf on loan to the High Moon Pack to update their security system. Unfortunately for the pack and Rocky, he's a wolf with several deep secrets that do not bode well for anyone in his vicinity. Cade is Alpha Gray and his beta Liam's best friend and they've grown up together. Cade is still feeling massive guilt from when the demon kidnapped the cubs and there's something about Rocky that is bothering him. Both of these men are attracted to one another, but between Rocky's secrets and Cade's concerns it might not work out so well for them.

Simon and Garon are out in the forest one day when they discover a young boy, Riley, a mountain lion shifter. He's been running for days ever since his mom told him to "when the bad man came". The Pack sends a contingent over to Riley's pride lands to see what happened as they are unable to reach anyone via phone. What they discover is horrific, tragic, and opens up a world of questions. The mountain lion pride has been completely drained just like the demon was in book one and since Cormac killed Thomas at the end of Mind Magic, they are at a loss as to who is responsible. Life at the wolf compound is getting pretty anxious and Rocky can not wrap his head around this pack. He doesn't understand how they could have let a Mage, much less how the Alpha mated him, and in his pack they certainly would never keep a stray regardless that it's a child. Rocky fears that Alpha Gray is weak and that the High Moon Pack is in danger.

You can imagine with all of this turmoil going on that starting a relationship, even just a sexual one, is probably not the smartest thing Cade and Rocky can do. They hold out as long as they can until they both finally snap and let me tell you, it's hot! But there's trouble in Riverside City for these two - loss, betrayal, anger, hurt, and pain. It will take both of them and the pack to survive.

I really liked this second installment of the series. I adored how it was written. I enjoyed watching all the relationships develop and flourish. Simply put, it's a fantastic, sexy, intriguing, mesmerizing tale of shifters and magic. Oh, and love!
