Book Blurb

A wolf shifter eases his pain with work after being rejected by the other half of his soul, a man who despises the idea of true mates.

Nicholas Cartwright buries himself in his work in an effort to forget the night he found his mate only to be callously rejected. He pushes himself to exhaustion, an incomprehensible state for most shifters, while being unable to find solace for even a single night in another man’s arms.

When Nick’s reluctant mate reappears one day asking for his help, he questions whether he can set aside his pain and forgive Thayne. He must decide if he can trust Thayne to stay this time and not cut and run again.

Forgiving Thayne is book 2 in the True Mates series. Although it can be read as a standalone, it does include scenes with characters from the previous book.  This book features rejected mates, slow burn MM romance, and grown up content with an inevitable HEA.

First edition published by Dreamspinner Press, October 2014.

Book Review

Can you imagine what life would be like, learning that the mate Fate has given you wants nothing to do with you? Knowing that the pain and rejection you feel will only get worse, and that you'll spend the rest of your life alone because you can't stand the touch of anyone besides your mate? I really don't think I could handle living like that, and if I could survive that much heartache.

Nick Cartwright has spent the last six months wishing he had never gone to Senaka, Wyoming to help his best friend Seth. While there, he meets Thayne Whitedove, his true mate, but, instead of being happy about it, Thayne coldly rejects him. Shattered and heartbroken, Nick buries himself in work, barely eating or sleeping, and driving himself to the brink of a breakdown. The thought of spending the rest of his life not being able to handle the touch of anyone besides his mate leaves him devastated. Thayne appears out of the blue one day asking for Nick's help. Nick can't bring himself to refuse, but the cost of doing so may be higher than he is able to handle.

Thayne Whitedove has lived his life on the road, drifting from place to place working the odd job, then moving on when the urge hits. His sex life has been an endless parade of one-night stands and random hookups, and that's the way he prefers it. The last thing Thayne needs, or wants, is a mate, so when he meets Nick Cartwright, he callously and cruelly rejects Nick in the most brutal way possible. When a mistake Thayne made in the past comes back to haunt him, and puts his life in danger, the only thing he can do is return home. The only way Thayne can save his life is to do the one thing he never wanted—claim Nick as his mate. Thayne has to decide if he wants to spend the rest of his life running away from his past, or if he can find the courage to stay and fight for Nick's forgiveness.

I found myself so engrossed in this powerful story that I stayed up all night reading because I just couldn't put it down. This book is the sequel to ‘Chasing Seth’, but each book can be read as a standalone. If you want a fascinating tale that pulls you in, and won't let you go until long after the last page is read, then add this book to your reading device as soon as possible.
