Book Blurb

Will Grant only attends the PFLAG meeting because his mother guilts him into it. But the instant he hears the night’s speaker, Will is glad he showed up. Joshua Rhinehardt is dynamic and engaging. Although Joshua isn’t physically Will’s type, Will can’t get the man out of his head.

Joshua may be comfortable in his own skin, but it isn’t often men like Will are attracted to him, and he's not comfortable changing for someone else. He wants to make a life with Will, but his own insecurities keep getting in the way.

Will’s unwavering acceptance helps Joshua see that when two people connect, physical appearance just might not matter at all.

Book Review

Most people have a type of person they are attracted to. In quite a few cases, those types, for one reason or another, never seem to work out for the longer run. Sometimes the types we do not expect to be interested in, the people who don’t seem exciting or fascinating at first glance, are exactly the ones who are right for us.

In this story, Will and Joshua are two men who never would have expected to be right for each other. They meet through sheer coincidence, only to find out there is much more to a relationship than a “type” of man each of them would have expected to fall for. Will seems to be the more superficial of the two initially, but as the story develops, I saw just as many preconceived notions in Joshua. I loved that both men needed to learn and change in order to make the relationship work. It’s a sweet story, with great characters, and written with lots of humor. I wasn’t sure who was more surprised about how well they fit—Will or Joshua, and loved following Will as he tells the story of how they figure it out.

If you like stories where unexpected matches between characters are not just entertaining, but also carry a deeper message of acceptance, if two men who each discover new things about themselves as they get to know their partner sound interesting, and if you’re looking for a sweet story that is short on angst and long on cuteness, then you might like this novella.
