Book Blurb

Despite his last name, Kelly Snow despises winter. He hates being cold and tromping through snow and ice. So, naturally, he's called to inspect and catalogue a hermit's vast library... in the mountains.

Dregan Stone has been around long enough to amass an enormous collection. Instead of gold and jewels, however, his hoard is made entirely of books -- so many he's lost track of what he actually has. He needs help getting his hoard organized, so a friend recommends a librarian.

Kelly and Dregan couldn't be any more different, but neither man can deny the bizarre magnetic attraction between them. Dregan refuses to believe what it means, but that's the least of his worries. What happens when Kelly discovers just what sort of man he's working for?

Book Review

Wit & Wizardry, or so I found out, is a beer served at a local bar. Not that it plays a major role in the story, but it does explain the series name. Anyway, this is a story full of surprises, from the initial assignment lonely librarian Kelly accepts to the revelations about his new employer. It is also a highly amusing tale about a lonely dragon who suddenly discovers life is about more than business dealings and hoarding books. Their meeting and the smoldering romance that follows makes for excellent entertainment.

Kelly is a librarian who specializes in organizing other people’s book collections. This time he has hit the jackpot – a three-story high library with over forty thousand volumes, most of them old. Even though he has to travel through ice and snow (which he hates) to get there, which bibliophile in their right mind could resist the lure of that many books? I know I certainly couldn’t! But what keeps him fascinated is not just the books – their owner ends up revealing some very unexpected secrets that open Kelly’s mind to an entirely new world.

Dregan made me grin – he is an ice dragon and, rather than the “usual” gold and jewels dragons hoard, his treasure consists of books. He has lost count and has no idea what he owns, so he listens to a friend and hires a librarian to help organize his collection. Dregan has business to attend to and an idiotic brother to deal with, which is why he hired Kelly, but he can’t ignore his attraction either.

I loved watching these two lonely men begin to realize they might be better off as part of a couple – despite their expectations to the contrary. In many ways they are a great fit, but they also have enough differences between them and a sound supply of stubbornness, to make and keep things interesting. The result is a highly entertaining story that made me smile and laugh more than once.

If you like stories that combine humor and romance, if you adore dragons like I do and love books, and if you’re looking for a read that is funny, hot, and has a great ending, then you will probably like this novella.
