Can a lost single dad and a lonely cowboy find love—and the family of their dreams?

Jake

Becoming a single father definitely wasn’t in my plans. It’s the toughest challenge of my life, especially with my parents gone, but my little girl means the world to me. I’m driving her home to the Rockies for her first Christmas—and because I took a boneheaded shortcut, we’re stranded in the middle of nowhere.

With a blizzard closing in.
Fast.

I’m more scared than I’ve ever been when a gruff, gorgeous cowboy gallops to our rescue.

Why does he look so familiar?

Cam
I was a skinny geek in high school with a hopeless crush on Jake—until he revealed his true colors. He’s a backstabbing coward, and I haven’t missed him one bit since he moved to the big city. I spend my days with my dog, my horse, and my yaks. I don’t do people.

Now of all the people in the damn world, he’s on my ranch. Stranded with his tiny, helpless baby.

I can’t abandon them to freeze—even though it means bringing Jake to my cabin to get snowed in. Even though I’ll be trapped with the only man I’ve ever loved.

Even though I only have one bed.

A Baby for Christmas by Keira Andrews is a steamy LGBTQ+ romance featuring a bisexual single dad at the end of his rope, a lonely demisexual cowboy who likes to take charge, hate to love, and of course a happy ending.

Book Review

A Keira Andrews Christmas story always leaves me with warm and fuzzy holiday feels and this was no exception. This story focuses on the forced proximity and only one bed tropes and was much better than I expected it to be.

Single dad Jake and his infant daughter, Cora, are on their way to a rental in Lonely Valley when his car breaks down on what he had thought was a shortcut. Of course, there’s a blizzard of snow going on, and unknown to him, an old high school friend (or maybe nemesis!) is working the nearby ranch and his dog alerts him to the baby’s cries.

Investigating, Cam finds the man and baby and packs them onto his horse to make his way back to his cabin. Yes, a cabin with only one bed in a major snowstorm! Ready for it? It turns out Cam was cast out of his family and rejected by peers when something Jake did in high school pointed the finger at Cam being the culprit. Now fully grown, tall and muscular, Cam is barely recognizable as the scrawny little guy who had a crush on football player Jake.

Being forced together in a one-room cabin with a baby might be just what the two men need to settle old grievances. Bisexual Jake crushes hard on Cam as Cam begins to relax around the guy, and Jake clears the air about the past and asks forgiveness. Cam comes to care for the baby as well as Jake, and the two prepare to celebrate Christmas in the cabin as the storm rages on.

All of the dialogue and the looks, the quiet moments, the fun times with the baby, and the atmosphere of the holidays combines to build a foundation for the two men to realize they want to be together. Will one reach out to bare their feelings before it’s too late and they have to part? Well, readers need to pick this up and find out.

All the ingredients I love are here: lonely cowboy meets new and frazzled daddy, the past catches up to two men, and the sparks of romance are kindled over the holidays. What could be a better gift?
