Book Blurb

Sometimes werewolves are the good guys.

Kaden has always dreamt of cooking. His family scoffs at his wish to help out the war effort and think he's wasting himself joining a pack.

Gage is the Alpha of his pack and loves his mate Russ with everything he has. But, although the beta wolf loves him back, Gage isn't Russ’ mate. In a quirk of nature, their bond is one-sided and while Gage holds as tightly as he can, he can feel his lover slipping away.

Russ loves his Alpha, but a piece of him always longs for what could be. He doesn't want to hurt his lover-but how much better would life be if he could have a mate of his own?

Three men with different goals discover the difference between love and mating and how sometimes what you want may not necessarily what you need.

Book Review

A werewolf who wants to cook, one-way mate bonds, and three men so hot for each other they'll do anything to make a very unusual triad work are just a few of the ingredients of this fantastical werewolf romance. Add an ongoing war against vampires that is draining every pack's resources and an evil saboteur, and you've got the key elements of this novella.

Kaden is a gamma, but not interested in just being a beta's partner or plaything. He wants to cook, and follows his calling with determination. The descriptions of his culinary efforts are really funny, as are his hopes of being a chef in what is, essentially, a wartime tent camp. Blueberry muffins shouldn’t be anyone's priority, but it sure made me smile when all the tough warriors practically licked their fingers and wanted more. Kaden's dedication should have been a hint for everyone to watch out – Kaden is one determined wolf and not ready to let anyone tell him what to do. Except maybe Gage, the powerful alpha, to whom he feels a strange attraction.

Russ faces a difficult situation: he is Gage's mate, and he loves the alpha, but Gage isn't his. That must be a first in werewolf land, and they both struggle with the consequences of Russ wanting to have his own mate. As a beta, he is a trusted part of the pack's defense, and as the alpha's mate he is loved and cared for, but there is still something missing.

Gage's situation isn’t much easier, despite the fact that he is at the top of the totem pole, so to speak. He loves Russ, and hates the idea of Russ wanting someone else. He is still determined to give the guy what he needs – and the pleasant surprise when he finds out who that is makes a big difference in how these three learn to live with each other.

In fairly typical Amber Kell fashion, these three men tend to work things out between the sheets more than via communication. When they do get busy things heat up, and the various combinations possible with three partners sure keep them entertained. If you like paranormal stories about werewolves, if you're a fan of threesomes, and if you want to find out how this latest new world of werewolves and vampires locked in battle works, you should not miss this book.
