Book Blurb
I can’t seem to choose between the two shifters who mean the world to me… but what if I can have them both?
Trying to navigate my feelings has never been easy. Growing up, I had to keep my emotions locked down and hidden from the world or suffer the consequences. But now, well, now I’ve had a taste of freedom, and with it, my heart has been running wild.
Between trying to find witches—members of the Red Cloth—at work and sifting through my overwhelming emotions, I’m a mess. And two certain shifters seem happy to help sort me out, which is great, but it’s making all these feelings hit me at once.
How in the world can I tell River and Kulani that I… that I like them? Both of them. At the same time. This is going to end in disaster with one, two, or three hearts broken. But what if it doesn’t? What if there’s a way for all three of us to get what we want?
Book Review
From the moment I met Jude I’ve been waiting for his story. He, River, and Kulani are such a great match, each of them bringing strengths and weaknesses to their polyamorous relationship that complement the others. ‘An Embrace to Hearten Me’ was fabulous and I enjoyed every moment.
Kulani is gay, Jude is demisexual, and River is nonbinary. What starts as friendship becomes so much more, even more than being pride mates, and I can admit there were more than a few times I just wanted to smack each of them for not communicating. Honestly, why is that so scary? Regardless, learning more about Kulani and River’s lives before the Ono-Nai pride was both tragic and hopeful. It also reaffirmed how truly incredible Cosmo is as an alpha.
Amidst the evolution of their triad, the ongoing battle to hunt down the Red Cloth continued in this book. Unfortunately, they are constantly finding abandoned buildings with old, faded witch-runes, but aren’t having any luck locating more witches. So there’s still the questions about why they want Mads, what their plans are, and how long they have been operating in secret? The NHSO is on the hunt for all of their missing human captains after the attack on HQ but so far there’s been no luck in tracking them down. Jude, Mads, Cosmo, and the entire pride know there’s more coming down the line, but when and how has everyone on edge.
This is another great companion novel, contrary to the author wanting to call it a novella. *grins* Getting to see all three of these mates fall in love with laughter, food, and more laughter was wonderful. Everything about it is sweet and loving. So much so, in fact, I’m actually looking forward to getting back to Mads POV… I need some snark! Thank you, Michele Notaro, for doing justice to Jude, River, and Kulani.
