Book Review

I can’t believe that I spaced the release of this third book in the ‘Dark Court’ series and I’m only just now reading Brandon and Kavin’s story. I adore this author’s work and the first two installments were exciting, fun, and beyond sexy, so I knew this novella would be as well.

Brandon was working at the Institute that functions as a cover for the mad doctor who experiments on the fae who are captured on this side of the Veil. Brandon, of course, had no clue what was really going on, he just came in every night and did his job as an orderly. Until the night he’s told he’s been given a promotion, the whacko doctor does a bunch of tests on him while Brandon is drugged to the gills, and then he’s given an injection of the doctor’s special serum causing Brandon’s libido to shoot through the roof and a few other anomalies to occur.

Kavin has been working undercover for several months to try to discover who is kidnapping his people and experimenting on them. He’s shocked when he discovers his cousin, Monte, being held at the Institute but even more startled when he realizes the doctor has taken Brandon, Kavin’s beloved. Kavin has to do everything possible to rescue the man but in the state Brandon is in, Kavin and he end up bonding, with Kavin then getting captured and Brandon ending up across the Veil in dark Unseelie territory.

‘Beyond Eternity’ is insanely exciting with a lot of intrigue mixed in. Brandon finds himself immersed in the Unseelie underground with Sareed, the leader of this underground and a very important person in Kavin’s brother, Conell’s, life. That’s all a spoiler and I’m not sharing. I did, however, confirm with the author that she plans on telling their story. *grins* Brandon and Kavin find their way back to each other although Brandon has a bit of a surprise for Kavin when they reunite.

I adored this addition to the series. Brandon and Kavin are wonderful together and the glimpses I got into the mystery surrounding why humans and fae are finding each other is definitely enough to keep me hanging until the author writes the next book. Thank you, Stormy!
