Bodyguard Adam Freeman draws what everyone else thinks is the short straw at the convention for a procedural cop show - as bodyguard to TV actor Logan Brady. Or as the Internet has labelled him, Logan 'Sex God' Brady.
Logan is taking part in a convention at a London Hotel for his show 'Night Cop' and someone is threatening his life.
Adam gets more than he bargained for when his client combines coming out of the closet with them both trying to stay alive.
It may seem that TV stars lead a glamorous, adventurous life, and to some extent that's true, but it's not all fun and games as Logan Brady of 'Bodyguard to a Sex God' knows all too well. There's a downside to fame—lots of traveling, having to always be on, smiling for the camera regardless, and almost no privacy. That's not even to mention the long hours shooting the show, boring interviews, autograph signing, and endless public appearances. Lately, his fame has garnered him some seriously unwanted attention, an especially creepy stalker. Even though Logan has Adam Freeman, from Bodyguards, Inc., as his protector, he doesn't feel entirely safe and is afraid not only for himself, but for those around him.
Adam is not pleased with protecting what he assumes is a rich, spoiled, self-centered person; but when he meets Logan, he discovers that he is anything but. Logan takes his position quite seriously and is very responsible, loyal, and caring. Adam is forced to re-evaluate his opinions. This complicates the assignment even more because Adam is extremely attracted to Logan. Knowing that he has to maintain his objectivity, Adam tries to fight his feelings and keep Logan at arm's length; but even with his best efforts, he fails miserably; he and Logan quickly end up in bed together breaking the cardinal rule in being a bodyguard. Adam has Logan questioning what's truly important in life.
Logan doesn't want a bodyguard any more than Adam wants to be one. Even though there have been threats before, he's finding it hard to believe that it's not just words, that one of his fans would carry through with an attempt on his life. Not only has Logan's fame boxed him in from living as he'd like, but also has him hiding the fact that he's gay. This has impacted the lives of those around him who help guard his secret. He's caught in a web of his own making. His attraction to Adam causes him to think long and hard about finding a way out of it.
Besides the main theme, there's a lot going on in this mystery-love story, including “when one door closes another opens”; "truthfulness is the best policy", and "love will always find a way"; and more. Each sub-plot is interesting in its own right and they are all tied up nicely in a satisfactory conclusion. I'd recommend this book to everyone who enjoys a fast-paced, intriguing love story with a very happy ending. Thanks, RJ, for an enjoyable, hot romance with more than one twist.
