Aidan Drummond is happy on his own.
A solitary tree surgeon, he’s made peace with working alone, eating alone, being alone. Until a serious accident tears his world apart and lands him in a hospital bed opposite the most beautiful man he’s ever seen.
Ludo Giordano is beautiful, bright, and impossible to ignore. Bipolar and sleepless, his world is ruled by colour—shifting, vivid, relentless. And when he looks at Aidan, he finds a flare of yellow he can’t resist. Their midnight conversations ignite something electric.
Something dangerous.
Something Aidan can’t forget once he’s discharged. Grey isn’t enough anymore, and when a chance reunion pulls them back together, that flare… Aidan can’t resist it either.
His recovery is slow and painful. Ludo’s instability is a storm they can’t outrun. Yet together, their fractured lives start to feel whole.
Almost.
Because loving Ludo means weathering every shade. It means holding on when he whispers kiss me again because he needs an anchor more than a promise.
It means fighting for a love that burns brighter in the dark
A grumpy-sunshine, hurt/comfort, opposites-attract, mental-illness rep MM romance packed with slow healing, emotional angst, and the kind of devotion that refuses to fade.

“I was lost for too long, but when I found you, I could feel it in my bones. You were my home.” ~ Anjum Choudhary, Souled Out
Aiden Drummond, of ‘Kiss Me Again’ by Garrett Leigh, lives a solitary life. He has no friends and only one relative who cares about him, although thinks he’s a jerk. Aiden is good at his job so his boss puts up with his bad attitude. When Aiden is knocked out of a tree by a van, his entire world changes. There are people who say there are no coincidences; everything happens for a reason. While in the hospital, Aiden meets the most extraordinary young man named Ludo, who, despite Aiden’s best efforts, won’t be scared away.
Even through his haze of pain from his injuries, Aiden can tell that there’s something very different about Ludo. His whole demeanor, the way he thinks and acts, is like something otherworldly. Ludo is not put off by Aiden’s grouchiness. He has so much patience and shows such great concern for Aiden that it confuses him. He wonders why Ludo cares. Ludo has a way of understanding him, of making sense of what would be nonsensical to other people. The amazing thing is that Aiden understands him just as well. When Ludo suddenly leaves the hospital, Aiden is strangely bereft.
Months later, lost in an alcoholic fog, Aiden wanders into a wood near his house. To his disbelief, he spots a dog and someone who looks like Ludo. Aiden figures he’s hallucinating, but it turns out to be true. Soon, he comes face to face with Ludo and his dog. Ludo notices that Aiden is drunk and is limping badly and takes him back to his house. Ludo is happy to see Aiden and is determined to help him. The thing is, Ludo is bipolar and, at times, can barely take care of himself. Yet, the way he reacts to Aiden is different than he does with anyone else. Ludo wants Aiden around. He makes him feel safe. They relate in a way that’s surreal, but it is wonderful. Aiden is surprised at how comfortable he feels with Ludo; almost domestic, which he normally hates the thought of, but it’s Ludo, not just some random person. When Aiden leaves to go home, without leaving his phone number or address, Ludo wonders if he will ever see Aiden again.
This story is both heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time; a wonderful love between two men who, to the rest of the world, are misfits, pieces of a puzzle that don’t quite fit. Garrett handled the difficult subject of Bipolar disorder with a sensitivity found in someone who has experienced it personally. My son was bipolar; many of Ludo’s symptoms were painfully familiar to me, as was the panic Aiden felt about not knowing how to help. Thanks, Garrett, for helping Aiden and Ludo find their place in each other’s hearts, giving them hope neither of them thought they would ever have.
