Book Blurb

Getting a puppy can cause major upheaval, mess, and distraction in your life. Much like getting a boyfriend, come to think about it. And Cliff has to think about it after Mischa (the adorable, but incredibly messy Newfoundland puppy) and Gerard (the equally adorable, but incredibly tidy man) come into his life on the very same day.

It's a case of opposites attracting -- and a puppy making it worse. The dog is wreaking havoc, and in the end, Cliff''s doubting whether he's going to have a boyfriend for much longer. Then a puppy catastrophe leads to the discovery of Gerard's kinky secret, and Cliff realizes that they may be more compatible than he ever thought possible.

Book Review

This short story about a somewhat slob-like forestry specialist and a compulsively neat interior decorator is a great mix between humor, opposites attracting, and kinky play. The dog, a Newfoundland puppy called Mischa ("bear" in Russian), is a great secondary character and I loved how he was the catalyst to Cliff and Gerard's relationship changing into something new and better – for both of them.

Cliff is very relaxed, loves to be outside, he does work as a forester, after all, and he adores dogs. The story of how he came to own Mischa, and how this led to him getting to know Gerard is hilarious. Cliff constantly thinks he isn’t good enough, definitely not neat enough, for Gerard, but the truth comes out eventually. It made for a very nice moment!

Gerard is fussy, extremely neat with a meticulously organized and clean house, and the complete opposite of Cliff in many respects. As it turns out, that is a very good thing, but it takes him a while to figure it out. When they do – boy, do the sparks fly.

If you like stories that make you laugh, if you want your dogs to be "people too", and if a fun twist that makes things go very hot, very quickly is what you're looking for, you will probably like this story as much as I did.
