Book Blurb

William has watched from the sidelines as his cousins Marcus and Daniel both found love. He’s done his part as a shield for the future king and sacrificed his own heart in the building war between the families. Now he’s being tested again.

Nevada is the third son of the Gallo family, the closest allies to the Dalrymple family. He comes to Aiden when he’s attacked by the same people that plotted against the House of the Dragon forty years ago—the same faction that would see the balance destroyed.

William volunteers to take Nevada in and keep him safe so he may help them in finding the Blood of Aeon, hidden in the Nether. While doing so, William must fight his growing interest in and desire for the other mage. His duty must come first.

Along the way, they must unravel mysteries, fight off ancient enemies, and come to terms with what destiny has in store for them.

Book Review

The 'Mages of the Nether' series is exciting stories filled with magic, adventure, mystery, wonderful romance, and sexy loving. I really wanted this third installment to be about Zachary but getting a better handle on William is a good thing, too. I had a feeling that William wasn't totally the snobby, cold man he appeared to be. I was also looking forward to the good guys locating the Blood of Aeon cult, and the traitor amongst themselves, and wreacking havoc on the group who've killed so many in the name of their "beliefs".

I thought Nevada was very understanding when William was such a jerk to him from the beginning. Granted, it is William's job to watch over and protect Aiden, the most powerful Medium in a long time, and Daniel, heir to the throne, so when Nevada appears, bloodied and bruised, it's William's responsibility to make sure he isn't lying about what happened. Personally, I would've taken a different tact… probably sarcasm and the occasional smack to William's head.

William takes his duty of protecting Aiden and Daniel very seriously. So seriously, in fact, that he almost derails his relationship with Nevada before it can even start, believing that he can't be an effective protector if he's involved with Nevada. Sigh. Men. Of course, all of these feelings, from both men, take a backseat when they're summoned into the Nether to fight. Oh, but what revelations come about during the fight. Things William had no idea about, and he hates that Nevada has been used as a deadly weapon - by his own family!

A seriously exciting book, overall, but even more so during the unveiling of the traitor and the subsequent battle in the Nether. I really liked the way the author tied everything up, although I'm still holding out hope for Zachary's story. Regardless, William and Nevada got their happy ending, and the whole story was full of action and suspense.
