Book Blurb

When Malcolm Jenner’s sex-on-the-side turns into more, he isn’t above begging for a second chance.

High profile attorney Malcolm Jenner is looking for a bit of fun, nothing serious. He's got duties and responsibilities, after all. Though he's not one to choose his lovers from the office, Jacob Renault is an attraction too compelling to resist.

However, Jacob isn't interested in temporary. He wants it all—Prince Charming, the castle, the happily ever after. There's no rule that says the younger man can't have fun while he's searching for his prince, though…

At first neither is willing to compromise on their stance, but an agreement is reached, with each man planning to do his best to subvert the other to his viewpoint. Lust turns to love, and what’s impossible becomes merely improbable, but is it going to be enough?

Book Review

Oh, Lee, you tricked me! I had assumed (I know, I know) based on the description that 'Loving Jacob' would tell the story of an office romance turning into more. It does, but it also begins with the devastation already having occurred, and then it showed me how that happened and gave me the opportunity to watch the attempts at being corrected. Sneaky, Lee, very sneaky. I like it!

I detested the Malcolm who first met Jacob. What an arrogant, pompous, cheeky bastard. Not my favorite guy, at all, although the author wrote him really well. He's done everything his wealthy family has asked of him. He was athletic, went to the top schools, married, had a family, but he never told them he was gay. Fifteen years into his marriage and Malcolm and his wife have an agreement. They both have whatever extra-marital affairs needed with no animosity, because his parents can't know he's gay and neither can his law firm partners.

Jacob works in the IT department of the law firm and is younger than Malcolm. I loved Jacob from the moment I met him. Sweet, sensitive, gorgeous, smart, funny, and not willing to accept less than what he feels he deserves. That's how Malcolm ended up screwing up so horribly, by trying to treat Jacob like a piece of tail and not recognizing his feelings, and then trying to offer him a "mistress" position. Idiot. Way to go, Jacob, for not letting yourself be used.

Five years later, Malcolm is a changed man and now that Jacob is single again, Malcolm wants him back. This Malcolm I liked very much. He'd been to hell and back in five years and he'd never stopped loving Jacob. He just had to convince Jacob of that fact. Which turned out to be easier than his wildest dreams, since Jacob had never stopped loving Malcolm. This was a very good story, although I would have liked it to be a little longer so I could experience more of Malcolm and Jacob's reconciliation. Thank you, Lee.
