Book Blurb

Whoever convinced me that sleeping with the hot co-owner of PUMPT Gym was a good idea should be tied to a tree and left in the woods to rot.

Too bad I'm the only one to blame.

There’s something about Dex that captured my attention the moment I first saw him, and no matter what I do, I can’t get him out of my head.

But there’s one tiny problem.

He's hearing.
And he doesn’t sign.
Oh, and he’s
also the brother of the guy my ex is in love with.

But while three years working in another country with an ocean between us should have cured my addiction, the second I see Dex again, he’s all I want. And this time, it’s worse. This time, he’s learned my language, and he uses his hands to tell me exactly what he thinks of me.

And exactly what he wants to do when he gets his hands on me.
And his lips.
And his tongue.

In spite of my own rules against dating men like him, I find myself wanting to break down all the walls I’ve built up. But will giving in to Dex make me the world’s biggest hypocrite?

Or will I be making the best decision of my life?

PAH! is the third book in the Deaf Hearts series and can be enjoyed as a stand-alone. It’s a spicy, MM, enemies to lovers rom-com featuring a burnt out, Deaf corporate cog with a country-sized chip on his shoulder, a hearing, sexy-sweet, gym owning himbo who is learning to take what he wants, especially when it’s offered, bad dates, better dates, A+ dates, light stalking, and a happily ever after.

Book Review

“The more anger towards the past you carry in your heart, the less capable you are of loving in the present.” – Barbara De Angelis

Dex, a character from ‘PAH’ by Cora Rose and E.M. Lindsey, has never seriously questioned his sexuality. But when Rome, a regular at the gym he co-owns with his brother, reacts strongly to his anger and attraction, Dex starts to wonder if that is true. Instead of panicking, he goes with the flow. The challenge is that Rome seems both attracted to and repulsed by him.

After a painful experience with a hearing ex, Rome vowed never to date another hearing man. Despite this, he finds himself drawn toward Dex, which unsettles him. His will to protect himself collides with his growing feelings, resulting in a fast, intense, love-hate relationship. At first, Rome lowers his guard after each meeting, but is at once met with self-loathing for letting Dex in. On their final, more vulnerable night together, Rome silently promises Dex he will return but hides his plan to leave the next day for three years to manage his father’s business in Italy, torn between desire and self-protection.

When Dex learns that Rome has always known he will leave for three years but didn’t tell him, he is furious. He thought they had reached a turning point and felt betrayed for believing they might have had a future together. He vows to move on but struggles to forget Rome. Although Dex tries to move on, he misses him and even learns ASL just in case.

Even the romantic city of Rome cannot erase Rome’s feelings for Dex; it only intensifies them. Instead of forgetting, Rome finds himself reliving memories, watching their video together, dreaming of Dex, and checking his social media. Though he tries to justify keeping his distance from Dex by telling himself that Dex is better off without him, the intense longing only grows.

When the time comes to go home, Rome is looking forward to slipping back into his world with his friends but has no idea what will happen when he meets Dex, who, from his social media post, seems to have a girlfriend. Rome should feel relieved because Dex has moved on. He has no right to feel jealous, but he does.

When Dex shows up at Rome’s welcome home party, Rome doesn’t know how to act around him since he thinks that Dex has moved on, but when Rome is clearly in distress from drugs, Dex, as kind and gracious as ever, puts Rome to bed where he is safe to sleep it off. After they get their facts straight, they decide to try again. However, under one condition: Rome must prove he is willing to be vulnerable, thereby accentuating the emotional side of their union, not just the sexual. If he can accomplish that, then they have a real chance of being a couple.

I did not think that there was anything that would make me like Rome with his bitter, nasty, cold nature, but Cora and E.M. accomplished it masterfully. Dex was his adorable, kind, compassionate self; even though he was hurt, he still forgave Rome and allowed him to try again. Also, it was enjoyable to visit with characters from earlier books in the series to see how they are doing. Thanks, Cora and E.M. I am looking forward to more books in your new series.
