Book Blurb

Serge, the youngest Lyall brother, wonders if he will ever find the kind of committed love his brothers Darius and Caleb now enjoy with their partners, Ash and Desmond. Then he meets Nicholas Starling, a mysterious newcomer to Moon Lake who hires him to restore an old house he has inherited, and an unexpected attraction sparks between them.

Once he begins work on the house, however, Serge uncovers a surprising, centuries-old connection that links him to Nicholas, as well as a bizarre secret that may make a future for them impossible. As his feelings for Nicholas grow, and the full moon approaches, Serge worries that if he reveals his lycanthropy, he may lose not only his lover, but his life.

Book Review

More paranormal mysteries emerge in this third book of the ‘Moon Lake Wolves’ series. It is the youngest brother’s turn to find love in unexpected places – and Serge certainly does not have an easy time of it! When he meets Nicholas and they both feel an unexpected attraction, it looks as if Serge is in luck – but nothing can be as easy as this, not in this family. What follows is a suspenseful action/adventure with more than one paranormal secret, some hateful humans bent on killing an ancient enemy, and more than one revelation about Serge and Nicholas’s ancestors.

Serge wants to find the kind of love Darius and Caleb have found, he wants to settle down, and he keeps wondering if he wants to start his own business rather than work construction and odd jobs with a friend of his. He is not ready for the mysterious goings-on in the house newcomer Nicholas wants him to restore, nor does he expect to have to face a group of humans out to deal with what Serge believes to be a ghost. His inner conflict only grows as he realizes what Nicholas and his “friends” are really after…

Nicholas looks like a successful businessman, but as it turns out, he is as much looking for something to be successful at as Serge. He has gotten himself involved in some very dark stuff, and it takes him a while to wake up to the facts. Serge helps Nicholas to start to think about what is really important but it is Nicholas’s decision whether he follows his own beliefs or continues doing what others expect of him.

If you like shifter stories with a few supernatural surprises, if a mix between a mystery and a insta-romance with some very hot loving sounds interesting, and if you’re looking for a slightly dark read full of surprises, then you might like this novella.
