Book Review

Shy Cowboy, the third and so far last book in the Uncommon Cowboy series, is loosely connected to the other two, as it is set in the same area and the characters know of each other. Tom is another wolf shifter and Cass is a cowboy with an inferiority complex due to his size. Being tall and strong is no defense against being bullied, and I loved that Jan Irving took this up as a partial theme for this book.

I loved this story about two lonely souls who meet and find they are stronger together than they are on their own. It takes them a while to figure it out, but when Tom is attacked by a rabid wolf shifter, Cass rushes to the rescue – and will not be denied any longer. I loved how they balanced the need to be dominant in turns. Cass had been so afraid of hurting a partner due to his size, it was wonderful to see him understand he wouldn’t have to do that with Tom. Tom, on the other hand, can finally hope for happiness because he’s found a mate who can deal with his super-human strength.

If you like stories about vulnerable characters, cowboys, wolf shifters and hot men, you will probably like this book. I certainly really enjoyed reading it.
