Book Blurb

I’ve loved him since I met him. Can a not-so-chance reunion give us a second chance?

Julian

The second I met Cameron, I knew I loved him. But when our moms started dating, it complicated things. For a while, it looked like we might become step-brothers.

Years later, our moms have broken up, and Cameron has moved across the country. But when work sends me to his city, it serves as a harsh reminder that Cameron blames me for all his hardships in his younger years.

I’ve been living life as a carefree playboy, but I’d give it all up for Cam — if only he’d let me.

Cameron

Dad leaving was bad. Julian nearly becoming my step-brother was so, so much worse.

From the second we met, he’s been a thorn in my side, a persistent pest. The absolute last thing I need is him showing up where I work now that I live three thousand miles away.

He hurt my mother’s chance at happiness many years ago, and I’ve never forgiven him for that. Yet the Julian who strolls back into my life isn’t the jerk I remember from my youth. Can I trust this change? Or will I open myself up only to experience the same old Julian all over again? There’s only one way to find out, but I’m terrified to try.

Stray for You is a second-chance small town MM romance with total opposites who nearly became family, a playboy salesman and an introverted musician, spicy open door scenes, and, of course, lots of cats. Go to linktr.ee/faraywrites for CWs.

Book Review

“When you assume things based on limited information or past experience, you put yourself at risk for miscommunication and hurt feelings due to false conclusions.” ~ 145 Inspirational Quotes on Dealing and Recovering from Addiction’ (Felix Prasetyo)

Cameron, from ‘Stray for You’ by F.A. Fay, still blames Julian for destroying his mom’s happiness by breaking up the relationship their mothers had, therefore taking away the only happiness in her life. Even though it's been five years and he and his mom have moved to the West Coast, Cameron still refuses to forgive Julian. He is rebuilding his life, focusing on his music. Just as he thinks life is getting better, Julian shows up at his workplace.

Julian fell in love with Cameron the first day they met. Cameron wasn’t impressed with Julian, so instead of toning down his rhetoric, Julian escalated his efforts to gain Cameron’s attention by tormenting him, since negative attention is better than none. Predictably, Julian’s negative behavior pushed Cameron further away, leading him to believe Julian despised him.

When Julian shows up at the place where Cameron works part-time, he is incensed by Julian’s audacity. He doesn’t stop to think about why Julian may be there; his mind goes straight to the idea that Julian has tracked him down to torment him, that is, until Julian explains he is there for a conference.

Julian wasn’t sure what would happen when he saw Cameron again, but he didn’t expect to be completely rejected. He hoped that after five years, things would have cooled off, but Cameron is still just as upset. However, Julian isn’t ready to give up and wants to win Cameron back.

After work, Julian and his coworkers decide to go out. He suggests a bar in a gay neighborhood, knowing that Cameron’s band is playing there that night. He is looking forward to seeing Cameron, but he also wants to hear him perform.

Cameron is looking forward to their gig, but as they set up on stage, his eyes meet Julian’s. Cameron wants to leave but won’t let his band down. As soon as their set is over, Cameron practically runs to his car, throws his gear in, and starts to leave, but stops when he hears Julian’s voice. He is torn between disdain and affection. He’s confused, but Julian kisses him; Cameron kisses him back. He is so confused, wondering why he let Julian kiss him? Even more so, why did he kiss him back? Are his feelings changing? Should he consider that they are not the same people they were before, and give Julian a chance to prove it to him?

‘Stray for You’ is a heartwarming story about two men who get a second chance to realize their true feelings, resolve misunderstandings, and find happiness. Naturally, Tux, one of the cats at the shelter, stole the show. Thanks, F.A., for bringing Cameron and Julian together.
