Book Blurb

It's never too late to fall in love ... or so he'd have me believe.

Clark

I’m way too old to fall in love. What point is there in going to bars and spending time dating when I have my work to occupy me? I’ve risen up the ranks at work, and I have the fancy apartment and retirement savings to prove it.

But something is missing from my life.

The day I meet the young, attractive, flighty yoga instructor with the wild blue hair, the loss stabs through me. Have I wasted my whole life? Or have I simply been waiting for him this whole time?

River

A person’s energy can tell me a lot about them. And the guy at the back of my yoga class possesses an aura that screams, “Help!”

It’s in my nature to reach out, but perhaps my intentions are not entirely altruistic. Clark is attractive, and I can’t help inviting him to my upcoming yoga retreat. When I get him alone in the forest, I finally sneak past his high walls and see the real him ... and it’s stunning.

My attraction to Clark is only growing the more I get to know him. But if we’re ever going to be together, he’s going to have to take a chance on a younger guy, someone who doesn’t fit his perfect, ordinary life.

I only hope I’m worth it.

Stray Slay is an age gap (nine years) small town MM romance with yoga, opposites attracting, spicy open door scenes, and, of course, lots of cats.. Go to linktr.ee/faraywrites for CWs.

Book Review

“We all have souls of different ages.” ~ F. Scott Fitzgerald

River, of 'Stray Slay' by F.A. Ray, is a free spirit who inspires those around him. He teaches yoga classes at the Rainbow Rescue Cat Café and spreads love and light to his students and others. River doesn't push his beliefs but will sometimes offer friendly advice based on the color of their auras.

One of his students tells River she has a friend at work who could really benefit from his classes, and when she brings him to class, River realizes what she means. Her friend, Clark, has one of the most tumultuous auras he has ever seen. Right away, River pledges to do whatever he can to help Clark untangle his emotions to live a happier life.

River's calming presence mesmerizes Clark, and the sudden surge of lust for him is puzzling. After class, River offers Clark a brochure for a yoga retreat where River is instructing. Clark takes it not expecting much, but his coworkers get excited and want to participate. To justify attending the retreat, management organizes activities related to their business.

River is thrilled that Clark and his colleagues have come to the retreat. He knows how badly Clark needs the experience the retreat could offer if only Clark could open up to it. Still, River reminds himself that, even though there is a strong connection between them, he needs to keep their relationship professional. When they become intimate, River is elated, but Clark feels guilty and doubts; he runs from River as far as he can. River is disappointed, but knowing it was a strong possibility, tries to understand.

I've loved River since the start of the series and have been somewhat impatiently waiting for his story. His patience and understanding with Clark were amazing. I felt a great deal of impatience with Clark. Although he had reasons for his uncertainty, I thought most of them were ridiculous, especially the age gap, only nine years, not ninety! Finally, he came to his senses, and they had their happy ending. Thanks, F.A. I'll miss the series, especially the cats.
