Welcome to Rescue for Hire West, a team of specialists ready to take on America’s rugged west while rescuing people. After months of training, Roman Marshall’s agreed to lead this team of heroes. The future looks even brighter when he meets spunky Jimmy Earl. Roman’s first challenge becomes accepting their nine year age difference. Age no longer matters when a serial rapist tries to kidnap Jimmy. Roman’s challenges aren’t finished. There’s training rescues gone awry, seductive brothers, lost children, and most of all convincing Jimmy they are partners, united forever.
The big guy might be gorgeous, but Jimmy Earl isn’t going to put up with his high and mighty attitude. He has better things to do, like make nonexistent phone calls. After waking up in the hospital with Roman by his bedside, Jimmy’s whisked off to Rescue for Hire West. Roman is dominating, possessive, and his hand regularly becomes a pain on his neither regions, but Jimmy can handle him, maybe.
As sad as I was to read the final book in the 'Rescue for Hire' series I was equally excited to begin reading the branch-off series 'Rescue for Hire West'. I had so much fun with the first series and fully anticipated enjoying this new series as much, or more. I met Roman briefly in the previous series when Cade was interviewing him to take over as team leader for the new office Cade was looking to start in the Nevada area. I liked Roman immediately and knew he was the right choice to handle a bunch of heroes.
Jimmy, or Little Bit as Roman nicknames him, had me at hello. He is beyond snarky, has attitude, and isn't one to put up with any crap, even from Roman. Roman and Cade save Jimmy when a serial rapist bribes a casino waitress to dose Jimmy's drink with Rohypnol. Roman doesn't understand it, although Cade explains how he felt after first meeting Bret, but somehow Roman has lost his heart to this tiny man with a temper and a smart mouth.
I thought Cade was an alpha through and through, but Roman is one seriously possessive, dominating, alpha male and watching him and Jimmy together was, at times, hilarious and frustrating. Being the smart man that he is though, it didn't take Jimmy long to read Roman and get past his stoic mask. It made me giggle when Roman began to get worried every time he saw that serene smile on Jimmy's face.
'The Leader's Little Bit' is a great beginning to this new series. Getting to see these men learn to work with each other, trust each other, and become a family much like Cade's team is was so much fun! Roman is awesome, I adore Jimmy, and I think each of these men in the team have great stories to tell. The rescue with all of its action and adventure was fascinating and I'm looking forward to more.
