Book Blurb

In a matter of days, Dex has been kidnapped, tortured, killed, revived, become half-Therian, offered the chance to become a spy, and accepted a proposal to marry his jaguar Therian boyfriend, Sloane Brodie. It’s been a lot to take in, and although Dex is still trying to wrap his head around everything that’s happened, he knows he has to move forward.

After the events of Smoke & Mirrors, Dex and Sloane find themselves in one of the most frightening situations of all: revealing the truth to their Destructive Delta family. When the dust settles, nothing will ever be the same, and it’s up to Dex to prove that in the face of change, the one thing that will always remain the same is family.

Book Review

I honestly believed that 'Smoke & Mirrors' was going to be the final book in the THIRDS series. I was mostly okay with that since a lot of answers were revealed and I felt fairly confident about where I believed the author was going to go in a spin-off. I am happy to see 'Thick & Thin' as it will enable Dex and Sloane to get some closure with Destructive Delta who are more family than coworkers.

How exactly is Dex going to tell his family everything that's happened to him in just a handful of days? Dex, of course, handles it perfectly… tells it as it is in Tony's hospital room while his dad is recovering from a bullet wound and Cael has had quite a week, and finding out his brother died isn't making it any better. *grins* Tony is not happy, in the least, when he finds out that Dex and Sloane are going to be TIN operatives.

“Have you thought about what this could do to you?” Tony’s soft words snapped Dex from his thoughts.
“You’ll be neck-deep in the most putrid, soulless filth this world has to offer. You really think you’re going to walk out of that unstained?”

It almost broke my heart when Dex and Sloane told their team that they were joining TIN. The responses from the team were, to be honest, what I expected from having gotten to know them so well, although, the author completely killed me with Hobbs and Dex's conversation. Trust Charlie Cochet to take their revelations into a completely different direction than I had predicted. Sparks is still up to her games but I honestly didn't care because the way Destructive Delta and Dex and Sloane are now classified means that their family will still be together.

This was such an awesome transition novella bridging the gap between where they were and where they are all going to be going. There was a bit of a set-up for what these guys’ next assignment will be and Dex's old adversary, Wolf, made an appearance. The exclusive excerpt for the next book has me completely jonesing and I can't wait for it!
