Book Review

I love stories about chefs, restaurant owners, and anyone who works hard in a kitchen to make food for guests. Maybe it’s because I don’t like cooking and am not very good at it, and anyone who has a calling to become a ”maestro” in the kitchen, like Marcus in this story, has my admiration.

As willful and determined as any chef worth his salt, Marcus is the undisputed lord of his kitchen. His standards are high, and most of his employees have no problem with that. Except one – Tyler – and he is a total pain in the you-know-where. When someone begins to deliver flowers and sweet treats to Marcus a few weeks before Valentine’s Day, Marcus has a riddle on his hands. He resolves to find out who it is and does so methodically and logically. He doesn’t quite get it right, but his feelings show him the way.

If you like stories with a mystery, if a cleverly written “secret admirer” tale is your thing, and if you’re looking for a read that is entertaining, romantic, and very sweet before things heat up, then you will probably like this short story.
