When Eli Block steps into his parents’ living room and sees his childhood crush sitting on the couch, he starts a shameless campaign to seduce the young rabbi. Unfortunately, Seth Cohen barely remembers Eli and he resolutely shuts down all his advances. As a tenuous and then binding friendship forms between the two men, Eli must find a way to move past his unrequited love while still keeping his best friend in his life. Not an easy feat when the same person occupies both roles.
Professional, proper Seth is shocked by Eli’s brashness, overt sexuality, and easy defiance of societal norms. But he’s also drawn to the happy, funny, light-filled man. As their friendship deepens over the years, Seth watches Eli mature into a man he admires and respects. When Seth finds himself longing for what Eli had so easily offered, he has to decide whether he’s willing to veer from his safe life-plan to build a future with Eli.

I will shamelessly admit that I've held off reading 'Walk with Me' as long as possible because it's the final book in the 'Home' series by Cardeno C., and I wasn't ready to say good-bye. From the moment I opened the very first book, I've been hopelessly in love with all of the characters and Emile City. These books have touched me in so many ways and the thought of not having new stories makes me sad. I do know that this is a series I will re-read over and over again because it really is just that good. If I forget to tell you, Cardeno, I loved each and every one of these books and all of the characters. And I thank you for bringing them to me.
Eli. I fell madly and hopelessly in love with him the moment he skidded into his parents' living room and locked eyes with Seth. How could I not? He was mischievous and completely irreverent about his blatant flirting. I adored him from the very first moment I saw him. I empathized with Seth, poor guy. No real clue why he feels this way about a young man, nine years younger than him, and scared to death to deal with it. He just wants to be a rabbi and he's confused that Eli's dad is completely understanding of his son being gay. Yep. Poor Seth. It takes him a long time to get his head out of his butt.
Eli decides that it'll be better to just be friends with Seth. Well, not better, per se, but at least he can still spend time with him and be a part of his life. So, Seth and Eli become the best of friends. The whole time, though, Seth wonders about his feelings and worries because Eli is so much younger that even if Seth could act on the attraction, would it be fair? The years roll on and Eli tries to overcome his childhood crush by dating other men, but he finally realizes he's in love with Seth, and he's never going to feel this way about anyone else. Eli returns to Emile City after he's completed his bachelor's and his master's degrees and takes a temporary to possibly permanent position at the temple while he's working on his PhD. Then the inevitable happens, and Eli and Seth get together. What now? Can Eli believe in what Seth is telling him, and can Seth get Eli to trust in his feelings?
A heartwarming and beautiful finale to an incredible series. I can easily and wholeheartedly recommend each book and the entire series.
