Book Blurb

There’s a wedding in the air at Auckland Med, but Reuben wonders if they’ll survive the stress long enough to say, ‘I do’. Cam is directing the entire operation with his combat eyeliner in place, whilst the wedding party is doing its best to ignore him. The pressure is mounting and the cracks are beginning to show.

There’s a bachelor party to survive.
The paparazzi to outrun.
A wedding outfit to confirm.
A rugby game to win.
A jerk of a father to cope with.
A stunning opportunity to consider.
A relationship to untangle.
And a shocking event that could derail everything.

With the universe conspiring against them, Reuben and Cam will have to summon every scrap of belief they have in each other to make it to their vows.

Book Review

The final volume in a series is not usually something I look forward to reading. However, ‘You Are Cordially Invited’ was such a treat that I enjoyed it from beginning to end, almost without the usual thoughts of “oh no, this is the last one”. It is a story about Reuben and Cam, their upcoming wedding, and several emotional and other spanners that get thrown into the works just to make things even more suspenseful. Add to that the many intimate and super-hot sexy times, starting with an unbelievably hot bachelor party, and this novel turned out to be a total treat.

Reuben Taylor has come a long way since I first read about him in ‘Crossing the Touchline’. Not only has he come out to the world, he is more open about his emotions, especially with Cam. Adopting his brother’s son, Corey, who is on the spectrum, is part of his changing personal life. He is so excited to get married and the group of friends he and Cam now have is a real support for him. If only his a**hole of a father were out of the picture.

Cameron Wano is as self-confident and sassy as ever, and loving Reuben has made him more open to other things he never would have seen himself do before they met. When disaster strikes he is devastated, but able to pull himself together to get himself and Reuben through it, made stronger by the deep love they share. Although it is touch and go, making the wedding happen remains his focus.

It was great to see all the main characters from the previous books in this series again. Their antics are as funny as ever, and the fact that they are now all friends warmed my heart. While the book had me biting my nails for a while, it was also very uplifting and thank the universe (and the author!) for Reuben and Cam’s hard-won happy ending!

If you want to know what is next for Reuben and Cam, if suspenseful almost-disaster stories are your thing, and if you’re looking for a great story with characters who are as believable as they are loveable, then you will probably like this novel as much as I do. It’s already on my reread list!
